Environmental Policy

Waste-IT believe that the best form of recycling is RE-USE and with Waste-IT you can be assured that over 85% of all the collected IT waste is tested, repaired and refurbished. Waste-IT uses a range of partners who can ensure that the refurbished and fully working products are sold on, or collected and distributed to charitable projects in the UK and across the world.

Recycling

Where possible Waste-IT also ensures that where any disposed IT Equipment cannot be reused, and then all relevant components are disposed of in an environmentally friendly process. This involves breaking down equipment and using waste recycling partners to dispose of the waste.

  • Hardrives
  • Motherboards
  • Power Supplies
  • Metals/Plastics

Hazardous Waste

CRT Monitors are classed as Hazardous Waste due to the lead, phosphorous, cadmium, barium and mercury content found within the internal tubes. Batteries and Fridges are also included under this catogory, due to the hazardous components and chemicals which they contain.

Waste-IT use a specialist Waste Management affiliate partner that processes the disposal of CRT monitors, as well as fridges and freezers in accordance with Environment Agency guidelines.
